Wings and capes

Guide

Wings let a character fly. They add defense, raise the damage you deal and cut the damage you take. The Dark Lord wears a Cape of Lord instead. There are two levels of wings in Moo Classic. 1st level wings come from a chaos weapon. 2nd level wings and the Cape of Lord come from a 1st level wing and a Loch's Feather. All of them are made by the Chaos Goblin; see Chaos Machine for the mix window and the other mixes.

Wings and capes are not sold in shops and monsters do not drop them. You make them, or you buy them from a player who did.

Seasons

Season What you can make
Season 0 1st level wings and 2nd level wings for the Dark Wizard, Dark Knight, Fairy Elf and Magic Gladiator.
Season 1 Nothing new. The Chaos Machine gains the Blood Castle and Devil Square tickets.
Season 2 The Dark Lord joins, so the Cape of Lord matters.

3rd level wings, and the wings of the Summoner and Rage Fighter, are not part of Moo Classic. See Moo Classic changes.

Overview

Step Mix You get Zen Success
1 Chaos Weapon A chaos weapon 10,000 per 1 % of the rate Shown in the window
2 1st Level Wings 1st level wings 10,000 per 1 % of the rate Shown in the window
3 2nd Level Wings 2nd level wings 5,000,000 Up to 90 %
3 Cape of Lord A Cape of Lord 5,000,000 Up to 90 %

You make 2nd level wings and the cape from a 1st level wing, so every character starts at step 1.

1st level wings

There are three. Each class wears the ones in the table. A Magic Gladiator wears both Wings of Heaven and Wings of Satan.

Wings Worn by Defense at +0 Damage Damage taken
Wings of Elf Wings of Elf Fairy Elf, High Elf, Muse Elf 10 +12 % -12 %
Wings of Heaven Wings of Heaven Dark Wizard, Soul Master, Grand Master, Magic Gladiator, Duel Master 10 +12 % -12 %
Wings of Satan Wings of Satan Dark Knight, Blade Knight, Blade Master, Magic Gladiator, Duel Master 20 +12 % -12 %

Making them

The mix is in two steps.

  1. Make a chaos weapon. Put one item at +4 or higher with an Option and one Jewel of Chaos in the box. The result is one of three at random, at level 0 to 4: Chaos Dragon Axe, Chaos Nature Bow or Chaos Lightning Staff. The weapon does not need to match your class.
  2. Put the chaos weapon in the box, at +4 or higher and with an Option. Add one Jewel of Chaos. The result is one of Wings of Elf, Wings of Heaven or Wings of Satan, at +0, picked at random. The wings do not need to match your class either.

Rules for both mixes:

  • Extra items at +4 or higher with an Option can go in the box. They are used up, and their value raises the success rate.
  • The zen is 10,000 for each 1 percent of the rate. At 50 percent you pay 500,000. At 100 percent you pay 1,000,000.
  • A Charm of Luck adds 10 points to the rate. The rate stops at 100.
  • The window shows the exact rate and the zen before you press the button.

If it fails

The jewel and the zen are gone. The weapon stays in the box, weakened: its level drops, its skill may go, and its Option may drop a level. See Chaos Machine. A failed mix never destroys the weapon.

2nd level wings

There are four. Wings of Dragon and Wings of Darkness give the most defense at +0.

Wings Worn by Defense at +0 Damage Damage taken
Wings of Spirits Wings of Spirits High Elf, Muse Elf 30 +32 % -25 %
Wings of Soul Wings of Soul Soul Master, Grand Master 30 +32 % -25 %
Wings of Dragon Wings of Dragon Blade Knight, Blade Master 45 +32 % -25 %
Wings of Darkness Wings of Darkness Magic Gladiator, Duel Master 40 +32 % -25 %

Making them

Put these in the Chaos Machine:

  1. One 1st level wing: Wings of Elf, Wings of Heaven or Wings of Satan. Any upgrade level works.
  2. One Loch's Feather at +0.
  3. One Jewel of Chaos.
  4. Optional: items with an Excellent Option at +4 or higher. Each raises the rate.
  5. Optional: one Charm of Luck.

Pay 5,000,000 zen. The rate goes up with the value of the wing and the Excellent items, and a Charm of Luck adds 10. It never goes above 90 percent. The window shows the exact rate.

The result is one of the four wings at random. The mix does not look at your class, so you can get wings that your class cannot wear. A Wing of Satan can turn into Wings of Spirits. Wings can be traded, so a wrong result can be sold or swapped.

If it fails

Everything in the box is gone: the wing, the feather, the jewel, the Excellent items and the zen. A 1st level wing is worth keeping safe until you hold the feather and the zen.

Cape of Lord

The Cape of Lord is the Dark Lord's wing. It gives 15 defense at +0, +20 % damage and -10 % damage taken. It arrives with the Dark Lord in Season 2.

It is made the same way as 2nd level wings, with one change: the Loch's Feather must be at +1, not +0.

  1. One 1st level wing.
  2. One Loch's Feather at +1.
  3. One Jewel of Chaos.
  4. Optional: Excellent items at +4 or higher and one Charm of Luck.

It costs 5,000,000 zen. The rate and the cap of 90 percent are the same as for 2nd level wings. The result is always the Cape of Lord. On failure everything in the box is gone.

Loch's Feather

The Loch's Feather comes in two kinds. The +0 feather is for 2nd level wings. The +1 feather is for the Cape of Lord. Other wikis call the +1 feather the Crest of Monarch. Moo Classic has no item with that name.

Both drop in Icarus, one in 1,000 kills each, from these monsters:

Monster Level Where
Queen Rainer 82 Icarus, Devil Square 5 to 7
Drakan 86 Icarus, Devil Square 5 to 7
Alpha Crust 92 Icarus, Devil Square 5 to 7
Phantom Knight 98 Icarus
Great Drakan 100 Icarus

Feathers can be traded, so a player can also buy one.

Upgrading wings

Wings take jewels like other gear. See Jewels and upgrades for the jewels and the upgrade path.

  • Jewel of Bless works up to +6 and Jewel of Soul up to +9. Wings take the +10 to +13 mixes of the Chaos Machine too.
  • The defense bonus grows with each level. 1st level wings gain 3 defense a level, so +9 adds 27.
  • 2nd level wings and the Cape of Lord gain 2 defense a level, and more from +10.
  • A higher level raises the damage bonus and the absorb a little too.
  • The level you need to wear an item rises as you upgrade it. Wings of Spirits +9 asks for level 260.
Level 1st level wings 2nd level wings and Cape
+1 3 2
+5 15 10
+9 27 18
+10 31 21
+11 36 25
+12 42 30
+13 49 36

Add the number to the defense at +0. Wings of Darkness +9 gives 40 + 18 = 58. Wings of Spirits +13 gives 30 + 36 = 66. A Cape of Lord +9 gives 15 + 18 = 33.

2nd level wings with an Excellent option for life, mana or ignore defense also get the Excellent defense bonus. The Cape takes no such bonus.

Using wings

  • Wings add defense and damage, and they let you fly.
  • You need a flying item to enter Icarus: wings, a Cape of Lord or a Dinorant. Inside Icarus you cannot take off the last flying item you wear.
  • The frozen lake round the island shrine in Devias Wasteland can only be crossed with wings, a Cape of Lord or a Dinorant. The Dark Horse does not count. See New maps.
  • Wings with 0 durability do not fly.
  • Worn wings never lose durability over time. They can still be damaged by hits.
  • In Chaos Castle you look like a guard and your wings are hidden. Your stats do not change.

Moo Classic changes

Change What changed Why
Wings do not wear out Worn wings never lose durability over time. In the original game they lost 1 point every 10 ticks in every zone. Players could never repair them in full, because the repair price jumped back after every repair.
Original defense 2nd level wings and the Cape gain 2 defense a level. Excellent life, mana and ignore-defense options add the Excellent defense bonus. Wings follow the original game's values. The server we started from gave them the 1st level wings' 3 a level, so Wings of Darkness +9 gave 67, not 58.
Only Season 0 to 2 results The mixes never give 3rd level wings, Summoner or Rage Fighter wings, or later feathers. The Cape stays. Those items did not exist in Seasons 0 to 2. An early test gave the Summoner's Wings of Despair from the 2nd wings mix.
Charm of Luck One Charm of Luck adds 10 points to the Chaos Weapon, both wing mixes and the Cape mix. It costs 30 Moo Gold, or 250 for ten. Failed mixes are the biggest player complaint. Players can pay for better odds, and the charm adds no new items. The original game's Talisman of Luck was not for sale. See Moo Gold shop.
Wings-only lake The lake in Devias Wasteland needs wings, a cape or a Dinorant. The island shrine and the Yeti King are a prize for characters that have earned wings.

Tips

  • Keep your 1st level wing safe. It is the only part of the 2nd level mix that you cannot buy back cheaply.
  • Collect the feathers while you level in Icarus. They drop rarely, so one hunt can take a long time.
  • Add a Charm of Luck to the 2nd level mix. 5,000,000 zen is lost on a failure, and 10 points matter.
  • Add Excellent items at +4 or higher to raise the rate, if you have spares.
  • A Magic Gladiator wears Wings of Heaven and Wings of Satan. Both 1st level results work for that class.
  • If the mix gives wings your class cannot wear, trade them. Another class may want them.
  • Dark Lords make the cape only from a 1st level wing, so a Dark Lord needs a Loch's Feather +1.
