Death

Guide
In short: when a monster kills you, you lose a little experience and a share of the zen you carry, then you wake up in town 3 seconds later with full life and mana. You never lose a level or an item. Dying to a player or inside an event costs nothing.

What happens when you die

1Your life reaches 02A monster's kill takes some experience and zen33 seconds later you stand in town4Full life and mana, buffs gone
  • You come back in the town the map belongs to, for example Lorencia after a death in the Dungeon.
  • Your buffs end and your summon leaves.
  • Your gear, your bag and your vault stay as they were. Nothing drops.
  • A trade or a request you had open is cancelled.

What a death costs

Only a death to a monster costs anything. The share depends on your level.

Your level Experience lost Zen you carry lost
1 to 9 None None
10 to 149 1 % of your level 1 %
150 to 219 1 % of your level 2 %
220 and up 1 % of your level 3 %
400 None, the level cap 3 %
  • "1 % of your level" means 1 % of the experience this level takes, not of all you ever earned.
  • Your experience never drops below the start of your level, so a death never takes a level away.
  • The zen in your vault is always safe.
Example: a level 180 character carrying 2,000,000 zen dies to a monster. He loses 40,000 zen and 1 % of the experience between level 180 and 181.

Outlaws lose more

Players who killed other players lose more experience when a monster kills them. Their zen loss is the same.
