Why it works here
A Magic Gladiator's spells come from Energy and the staff, as a wizard's do, and it gets 7 points a level against a wizard's 5. On our server its skill bonus also doubles its spells, not only its blade skills. At level 400 this split has 2,231 Energy and Evil Spirit hits for 1,522 to 3,254 before defense, where a full Energy wizard of the same level hits for 631 to 1,332.
