In short: Vitality in place of most of the Energy: you live through fights other wizards do not, and your spells hit for less.
Good and bad
Good at
- Life 2,228 at level 400, almost three times a full Energy wizard
- Survives an Energy PK opening
- Forgiving while learning the game
Weak at
- Spells hit for about half as much
- Slow to clear groups
- Late spells come later

Why it works here
Vitality is a wizard's only source of life. With 899 Vitality at level 400 this wizard has 2,228 life, against 830 for a full Energy wizard; an Energy PK of the same level needs about 3 hits, landing 45 % of the time.
History
Rare in the old days, when Energy was all that mattered for a wizard; more common on PvP servers.
